Art & Life for August 2006Photo of the MonthAugust is…the dog days of summer, crimson sunsets, packing in every gorgeous moment before autumn is upon us…
Oh, the humanity of it all...This month's humanity is literature... new buzzwords to be exact. 'cause you gotta stay cool...here's the lingo that's hip: Bluetooth Fairy: A person who spends the majority of their day in the blinking blue glow of their Bluetooth headsets. Zidaned: To be removed for doing something butt-headed. (As in "Jean went nuts in the meeting with the client, he shoulda been Zidaned!!") DBT: Death by Tweakage. You know it...when everyone has to put in their two cents and the end content result is just drab and overworked. Ringtone Rage: The desire to club your co-worker to death after hearing their annoying "I'm so original" ringtone for the Nth time. Wombat: Quite simply a Waste Of Money, Bandwidth And Time. Once stolen, the location, speed, and direction of travel of the vehicle is is pinpointed by GPS tracking. Everything that takes place inside the bait car is caught on audio and video, the most interesting of which are then loaded onto the site for all to see. Stuff That Disturbs MeIt's summer...I'm too busy having fun to be disturbed by much! However, a follow-up from last month's "Stuff That Disturbs Me"… a very astute friend pointed out that goop on the kid's face in the McDonalds ad actually mimicked Ronald McDonald makeup. Branded food smear. Yuck. Stuff I LoveThis month? This month I am grooving on:
