Why does buying a bag of ice have to go down like a drug deal? I'm free to load up my shopping cart with overpriced Reggiano cheese, but the grocery store doesn't want me to have easy access to a bag of ice that retails at $1.75. I've got to pay for it upfront. Obviously, I can't be trusted with their freaking ice.

First you have to whisper your ice needs to the cashier, then - and only then- the guy with The Key is called. It's not like they don't have interior freezers! Nope, the ice is kept outside. In its own special freezer, secured with a giant padlock.
